20 weeks
June 26, 2006
Babies,
We are 20 weeks 2 days today. So far we have gained 22 pounds, what can I say – you love the sweets!!! You should both be about a pound now and almost a foot long. So far you have made this pregnancy quite breezy for me. Other than the growing pains and frequent pee breaks I feel great. Thanks babies!!!! I was lying on the couch (eating of course, grapes this time, so a bit more healthy) and felt Shenzie start to kick and move. I put my hand down and sure enough I could feel every little kick on the outside. Not one minute later Heaten joined in the party and for the first time I felt him move on the outside. It was so wonderful, I wish your dad could have been here to feel you both. We should start feeling much stronger kicks and movement from you both now that you’re getting bigger and stronger. Keep growing little babies so you’re nice and juicy when you are born!
Your cousin Alexee is so cute. Every time she sees me she kisses each of you and tells you hi. Your other cousin Trever thinks your names are weird, but he’s only 7 so we’ll let him off the hook.
Week 20 Belly Photo - just ignore the paint splattered boxers. I outgrew all of my pj’s and have moved into Jeff’s boxers.

Kicking babies x 2
June 19, 2006
To the kicking babies x 2,
While I was resting on the couch after work and a piece of licorice I felt Shenzie start to move around. Then Heaten started moving and you were both going to town! I felt Shenzie kick so I lifted up my shirt and ‘POP’ my belly poked out for a split second with your next kick. I put my hand down to see if I could feel it, but of course you stopped. I also felt Heaten kick, although not as hard and not from the outside. You are both getting stronger. Soon your daddy will be able to feel every kick and punch also.
We love you babies!!
*Update*
The very next day your dad felt Shenzie move and the day after that he felt Heaten move. It was so exciting – he was so happy to finally feel you both moving around. <3

The first of many kicks
18 June 2006
To the kicking babies,
It is Father’s Day today. Next year your daddy will be an official daddy. Today I felt Shenzie kick me for the first time. It was so neat. It was 3 kicks in a row and then two more a couple of minutes later. Your dad tried to see if he could feel, but no dice. Soon, very soon you’ll be having a rock concert in my belly and I can’t wait!
We love you babies!!

19 Weeks
June 16, 2006
Dear Babies,
Tomorrow you are 19 weeks old. I have mixed feelings about how quickly everything is going by. On one hand I can’t wait to meet you, see you, hold you, smell you. On the other I love to see my belly grow with you both and feel you move. I am trying to enjoy everything about this pregnancy – the good and the bad. I can’t wait for your daddy to finally get to feel you move and kick. I’m sure at the end of the pregnancy journey it will be a relief to no longer get kicked and punched on a daily basis, but for now I am enjoying every movement. Heaten got in trouble today. Not even born and already being a trouble maker. Tsk Tsk. It has been about 6 days since I last felt you move so I called the doctor and was told to go to the hospital. Quite a bit of drama and stress while we were there. They couldn’t find your heartbeat on the Doppler so we had to go to the ER for an ultrasound. Luckily you are both still kicking and the heartbeats were perfect. Your dad and I were overcome with relief when we knew you were both ok. We love you already and couldn’t imagine life without both of you. I take it back about the mixed feelings, I want you both born healthy and fit so I can hold you and know that you’re ok.

17 Weeks
June 7, 2006
Baby Shenzie and Baby Heaten,
The time is already starting to fly. You are 17 weeks 4 days today. Almost half way there!!! A lot has been going on around here to get ready for the arrival of you both. Your dad painted your room, put together one of your cribs, hung the curtains, got the dresser ready, put together the daybed, and cleaned the entire house. Busy daddy. We really appreciate all of his hard work to make things easier on me. I’m getting bigger by the day it seems. So far I’ve gained 15 pounds!!!! We think the belly is rather large, but knowing its going to be three times as big is crazy! I can’t even imagine how HUGE I’m going to be. Of course, it’s all worth it for big, healthy babies, but my oh my – can we say MOO! We have been having regular doctor appointments. Yesterday your dad got to see you for the first time at the specialist. The ultrasounds there are much, much better. We got to see your hearts beating, the blood flow to your kidneys, your brain, your tiny toes and fingers, your little nose and lips. Everything about you is perfect. I felt Shenzie move yesterday for the second time. She is a little more shy with her movements. I feel Heaten about every other day, much stronger than his sister. Yesterday Heaten was right on top of Shenzie – she was squished!! You both weigh in at 7 ounces and measure about 17 weeks 5 or 6 days. The doctor said everything looked wonderful which is a relief – we can’t hear that enough. Your dad can’t wait until he can feel you kicking and moving. Pretty soon daddy. I bought you both your first outfits – so adorable. Your Auntie Kristy went with me to register for the baby shower. Hopefully you’ll get lots of goodies so we don’t have to buy them all. Having two of you is going to be muy expensiovo! Your room is adorable, you are both perfect, your dad is amazing and supportive - I couldn’t be happier.
