Now - officially we have not yet brought home any babies. Soon my little pretties, very soon. My wonderful but not very sneaky husband “surprised” me with the most beautiful pair of earrings and necklace. I am in “Bringing Home Babies Bling Heaven”! Nothing like a little bit of diamond to make a pregnant girl feel better. =)

 I love you sugar.

The third trimester of pregnancy is a cruel joke. They say that getting up every hour to pee is nature’s way of preparing you for the total lack of sleep you will get when the baby is born and that the last months of pregnancy are so miserable and uncomfortable it takes away the fear of child birth because anything is better than the misery you are now feeling. I am beginning to think it is all true. Mother nature is sick and twisted. There are many, many things I will not miss about being pregnant - most, if not all have surfaced this last trimester. The list goes something like this:

  • Bleeding gums
  • Swollen feet
  • Pregnancy induced Carpal Tunnel
  • Gestational Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Peeing every 30 minutes
  • Walking up the stairs and having to rest when I get to the top
  • Carrying around 40 extra pounds
  • Itchy rash on my belly
  • Couch Arrest
  • Acid Reflux
  • Growing pains that feel like a knife is in my belly
  • The constant fear something bad is going to happen to the babies
  • Night sweats
  • Fred the pregnancy pillow
  • Snoring so loud it wakes up my deaf husband who sleeps like the dead
  • Stuffiness
  • Checking my blood sugars 4x a day
  • Maternity clothes
  • Did I mention couch arrest

And trust me, I could keep going and going just like the energizer bunny (only not is a sexual way since that was banned weeks and weeks and weeks ago)!

On the very good news front - Shenzie is growing! We had our growth scan last week and couldn’t have got better news. Her little belly caught up with the rest of her and she now weighs in at a whopping 4 pounds! Heaten the piglet weighs 4.7 pounds. The doctor was happy with the weights and growth so now it is just a waiting game. We have our next growth scan at 35 weeks on October 10th - by then they should be over 5 pounds each.  I still get monitored 2x a week and the perinatologist and see my OB 1x a week so they have all the bases covered. We got to pick our C-Section date (that is if we don’t go sooner and everything looks ok with the babies). Friday, October 13th, 2006 will hopefully be their birthday. Of course this has many a family member worried and thinking Jeff and I are just twisted, but that is nothing new. =) We will be 36 weeks at that point, three weeks from now. I’m still not convinced I will last that long, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. My OB said to be prepared to go to the hospital at every doctors appointment, so I packed my bag and I’m ready. I’m a little scared about the epidural and very scared about getting cut open. Hopefully the pain won’t be too bad. Drugs I say - give me the drugs!

And of course we can’t forget the belly shots.

Hi!

All I have to say for those of you who keep saying how fast this pregnancy has gone by - *SMACK*. This last part is dragging its happy little ass and I want to cry. I must say that being pregnant is much harder and way more uncomfortable than I imagined it would be. Granted there are two babies in there which is probably making it seem worse, but still. I loved being pregnant and having this experience, but once is definately enough. My mom was smoking some serious crack when she had SIX kids. Six pregnancies - somebody kill me now!

My typical night - leaving me feeling like this:

10:30-11:00 eat snack before bed, pee, take pill for contractions                                                                           1

11:30 Pee

12:45 Pee

1:30 Pee

2:00 Wake to take pill for contractions, pee

3:00 Pee

4:15 Pee

5:30 Pee

6:30 Pee

7:30 Pee, wake Jeff for work

8:30 Wake, pee, take pill for contractions, check blood sugars and off to the couch (or doctor) I go.

Anyone noticing a pattern here. All I do is Pee. Holy moly can I say pee anymore. Ok - no more pee talk. On to bigger and better things.

31 Week Belly Photo

I am now measuring 40 weeks - if only we were 40 weeks instead of only 31. Due to Shenzies growth issue both our OB and Peri are thinking we will be having these babies closer to 34 weeks, not the 36-37 I had hoped. 34 weeks is in 2 1/2 weeks. Can we just say I am freaking out!!!!! Over two years of trying to get pregnant, 8 months of actually being pregnant, and I still feel like it isn’t real. By the end of the month we could have two screaming babies - holy crap! Jeff is so excited to finally see his babies he isn’t scared at all. Considering he has virtually no baby experience I find that odd, but good. We go in Tuesday for our growth scan to see how they are doing. If Shenzie is even more behind they will probably give me steroids to help their lung development so hopefully they won’t have to spend too much time in the NICU. Keep your fingers crossed! Off to the couch I go!

Ahhhh. A three day weekend.

I don’t want to rub it in your faces and make you all jealous, but this three day weekend was the best ever! While you were all off doing your thing - camping, going to the lake, shopping, moving (poor Kristy), and otherwise having a great weekend mine was much more exciting. Imagine lying on the couch allllll weekend resting, eating Bon Bons while your husband waits on you so you don’t have to get up. Ahhh, pure bliss. Oh wait! Reality hits. I was FORCED to lie on the couch all weekend, eating just the right amount of protein and carbs with not a sugar morsel to be had, resting being bored. And while my husband did wait on me so I didn’t have to get up off the couch it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be since he was the one who forced me to be there in the first place. Like I said, don’t be jealous that my weekend was so much more exciting than yours!!! I did however sneak and do a load of laundry - so there you have it, the highlight of my weekend - laundry!!
