We had a wonderful Christmas and I had a great birthday. It’s great to be 25 (or 32, but whatever, who’s keeping track). We spent Christmas Eve at mom’s house with the entire family. Boy are we getting rather large - soon to be even bigger!!!

It was a pajama party - and much, much fun. We had a yummy dinner, story time from Kristy, cookie decorating (yummy cookies from Dara), and of course TONS of presents. These babies were spoiled rotten from their Aunties and Grandma. The babies thank you and so do I!!

We drove out to Pahrump for Christmas day and spent the afternoon at Grandma’s and Gloria’s house. The food was delicious and we stocked up on dessert for the road.

Hard to believe the babies first Christmas is come and gone. Even harder to believe that tomorrow rings in a whole new year!!!!

Happy 2007 - it is going to be a wonderful year and I can’t wait!!!!

As we all know I LOVE to take photos. So far this month I’ve taken over 800. Some are ok and some are good. Sometimes I snap a shot that is really, really good….this is one of them. I love this photo - I think it is one of the best portrait photos I’ve ever taken. It doesn’t hurt that the subject is so darn cute its ridiculous. =)

Happy One-Day-Late Birthday Papa!!!!!

What do you get the man who has it all?!?! A bad ass new corvette, a fast zooming boat, a big red truck, a shiny new bike, and the best family ever! Well, if you are his daughter with new babies you get him nothing…because honestly you just didn’t remember and by the time you did remember it was already his birthday. Sorry dad - I owe you one!

You are the best dad we could ever have asked for and the funnest grandpa ever!!! Except when you try to take my son hunting and then you’re just in BIG TROUBLE!

    Be afraid, be VERY afraid

I love you papa!

   Today I feel like Superwoman!

After last nights breakdown I needed a break. Upon Jeff’s arrival home from work I basically handed him the kids and told him I didn’t want to hold them again until my shift at 2am - I was so done.

Today these babies were angels! Not only did I shower, shave, blowdry my hair, get dressed, and get the babies dressed we actually left the house! Blockbuster here we come!! Now to most normal people that might not sound like such a big deal, but to those of us couped up in the house day in and day out with crying, hungry babies it was pretty fun. I rented The Devil Wears Prada, Taladega Nights, Beerfest, and The Wicker Man. Hopefully we’ll get around to watching them on the long weekend. FOUR DAYS OF HEAVEN! Jeff is taking Tuesday off of work and can I just say I am so excited it hurts!!!!!! I’m way more excited about Jeff being home for four days than I am for Christmas or my birthday. That is so sad. Don’t get me wrong - I love staying at home taking care of our sweet, adorable, wonderful babies….but holy moly some days it is HARD. Today for the first time since they came home from the hospital I took a nap. Only 30 minutes, but it felt so good. Not only did I take a nap the babies both napped! At the same time! For more than 20 minutes!

He looks so sweet and angelic here, don’t let him fool you!!

That is Shenzie smiling. Today she gave a “real smile” but up until now she did the wide mouth smile. How cute is she!!

I looooove these babies. Sometimes it hits me that they are ours forever. We don’t have to give them back and they’re only going to get more wonderful. We are so lucky.

A long long time ago, in a land faraway, before I knew anything about screaming babies I called my mom a heifer. Ahahaha. I didn’t know what it meant at the time and I don’t remember her laughing too loud. Sorry mom!

Merry Christmas Grandma. Don’t say I never gave you anything!

These babies are HEIFERS! That is all I can say. They had to get some shots last Thursday and were weighed. At 10 weeks 3 days Heaten weighs 12.2 and Shenzie weighs 10.9. HOLY COW! I suppose eating every two hours will do that to a baby. The rolls. Oh my goodness, the rolls on these kids legs are ridiculous! Their legs are so chunky you could cook them up and feed them to a very hungry family and still have leftovers! Ewww. And I’m so tired I just wrote about some hungry family eating my babies fat rolls. Somebody save me. Pretty please. With sugar on top.  And whipped cream. And a cherry. The sleep around here is a precious commodity. During the day I really, really, really, really look forward to Jeff coming home. Following in a very close second position is going to bed at night. Five hours of pure heaven. Heaven I tell you.

Ok - question for all of you so I can say “I told you so” to my husband. When you change your baby on a changing table do you lay him/her so when you are facing them their head is on your left or your right? I change them so their head is on my left. Jeff is the opposite and has their head on the right which is just weird. So tell me, right or left?

Little Angel Babies. Couldn’t you just eat them up!

Christmas is next weekend!!!! Holy shit - where did the year go. As far as Christmas is concerned, I have all of the gifts bought and wrapped and thats about as far as it went. No tree, no decorations, no stockings, and no gifts for Jeff and I. Ba Humbug! No, not really. I just don’t have the time, energy, or motivation to put up a tree. Our house is overrun with baby crap and I don’t want even more crap out. Next year I will be a much better Christmas-ie mom, I swear! These babies don’t know anything other than eating and sleeping so I don’t figure they’ll miss a tree. =)

Look mama, I can hold my own bottle up. I’m a big girl.

I started the gingerbread house post over a week ago. Guess I’ll finally get it up. =)

Thursday my mom and I drove out to visit Kristy and the kids again. It feels so good to get out of the house and interact with adults. While I love staying home with the babies sometimes the diapers, bottles, burps, and cries really start to wear on me. It’s great to have help and get a break once in awhile.

Alexee and I made a Gingerbread house. I’ve never made one and I think it shows!!

Thank you Alexee for letting me help you with your gingerbread house. It was so fun!! Pretty soon Braiden, Shenzie, and Heaten will get to decorate them with us!

The days are beginning to blur together. Going on day 6 of crazy babies. No time for a real post - this is what most days look like:

Mixed with a little of this (yes, this would be Shenzie’s stinky present to me and my clean shirt):

And sometimes to make it all worth it you get one of these:

Dear Mommy,

Thank you for all your hard work and patience. We know we’re a lot of work and a lot of sacrifice, but we’ll always remember all the times we slept in your arms and looked up to you for something only you could give us.

Heaten & Shenzie.

PS. Thank you for all your hard work and for taking the best care ever of our two little ones. I love you Lesley Ann.

The minute one falls asleep the other wakes up.

The minute I crawl back into bed after soothing them to sleep, get snuggled in nice and warm, and just start to doze off they start to cry.

I give them their binkies, they go back to sleep, I sit on the floor waiting for them to wake up, they don’t. I think I’m safe so I tip toe out of the room, get into bed, just fall asleep and they start to cry. x4 each night.

I change their diapers, button their pajamas and hear the sound that nobody wants to hear after they just put a clean diaper on their child.

Right after taking their bibs off they spitup.

They are fast asleep on your chest but the minute you set them down they wake up and cry.

As long as you’re standing and walking they sleep, but if you sit down they wake up. How in the world do they know if you’re standing or sitting?!?

The conversation might sound like this:

Her: Ok, I’ll take the first shift and I’ll stop crying when it’s your turn.

Him: Sounds like a plan. I’ll sleep while you cry and when you stop crying I’ll wake up and cry so you can sleep.

Her: Oh, and don’t forget to spitup AFTER the bib comes off.

Him: Good one! Remember when she changes your diaper to let loose AFTER the new diaper is on.

Her: Hahahahaha. This is going to be so fun. We should do this everyday!

Look mama, we’re so cute you couldn’t possibly be talking about us!!
