Thank Goodness for Insurance
Holy Moly!
Thank goodness for insurance is all I can say. When we were growing up we didn’t have insurance. My mom said she paid $600.00 total when she had Daniel for his delivery and a week stay in the hospital. Oh how the times have changed!! We got our statements from our insurance provider from Shenzie and Heaten’s stay in NICU. Heaten was there for 16 days for a total of $96,000.00! Shenzie was there for 22 days for a whopping $135,000.00. We’d be living in a cardboard box if we didn’t have insurance coverage. I’ll say it again - good thing they are so darn cute!

Happy Birthday D
A big Happy Birthday to my friend Denise!
Denise and I met in middle school. I had just moved to Las Vegas from St. George, Utah when we became friends. Wow, we’ve been friends for almost 20 years! Holy shit!!!! We’ve lost touch and reunited a couple of times and I’m glad that now is one of those times. She has two beautiful daughters India Rose and Zoe. Denise and I used to have the best fun doing the stupidest things.
Us dressed up in my dads cowboy clothes. Picture taken sometime during highschool - maybe 10th grade?

We used to ditch school together alot, cruise the strip in our clown pants and shoes, and get into what little trouble I used to get into. The first time I ever did drugs was with Denise. We tried to smoke pot - but it didn’t work for me - I didn’t know how to inhale. Hahahah - I learned a little too well later on in life.
The things that will always remind me of Denise: her big green overstuffed chair I used to love to read in when we lived together and eating mac and cheese every single night!

Picture taken in Utah on our way to see Pearl Jam.
You can visit her and see her beautiful daughters at http://diz2.wordpress.com/ .
Happy Birthday D!

Two Month Stats
The babies had their two month Pediatrician appointment on Friday. They are both growing like weeds!!! Heaten is 10 pounds 11 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long! He is in the 25th percentile for his weight, the 10th percentile for his height, and the 10th percentile for his head size. When he was born he was 5 pounds 8 ounces - he’s grown alot in 2 short months!
I put him under the playmat for the first time and he really seemed to like it.

He also rolled over the other day from his belly to his back. Jeff ran an errand and wasn’t home to see it and I was really bummed he missed out. When he got home I put Heaten back on his belly and he did it again just so daddy could see! Even though he was a preemie baby he is hitting all of the milestones the same as a term baby. Oh, except for the cooing. He doesn’t do that at all yet unless you count crying, screaming, and squawking to be a coo - then he does it all the time.

Shenzie is 9 pounds 6 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for her weight, less than, less than the 3rd percentile for her height, and less than, less than the 3rd percentile for her head size. He gave them a clean bill of health and then the icky shots in their little legs. She is still a little behind Heaten developmentally. She did finally start to smile at us the other day which was the cutest thing ever. Her eyes are really starting to lighten up. I’m hoping they turn green like mama and papa’s.

Yesterday I was sitting on Cloud 9. For the past three days they have been little angel babies. Sleeping good and back on the 3 hour schedule instead of this 2 - 2.5 nonsense. Then today hit like a tornado. I don’t know what happened but the angels turned into devils. They are both crying, screaming, and the sleep went right out the window! I thought we were at a good turning point, but apparently they did a u-turn when I wasn’t looking.

Grandma Marge and Auntie Linda might be coming down from Canada in January. We are so excited - the babies finally get to meet their other grandma - the one with the funny accent. =) I sometimes forget these babies are halfsies (probably not a word - I sometimes make up words) - half American half Canadian. I can’t wait to take them up to Canada to meet their Great Grandma, their Aunt Leah, Uncle Dave, and cousins Emily and Nicholas. I’m going to have to drug their daddy to make the plane ride since he is terrified, scared to death, insanely petrified, just a little iffy about flying.
Jeff said we need to start reading to the babies. I told him I’d get some baby books for them, but he informed me that he intended to read them programming books or whatever it is he is reading - it is all in the tone apparently. Today he was in the kitchen explaining to Shenzie how light works. How it reflects and absorbs colors, how the eyes process it, and how the eyes see color. At this rate they are going to be greeeniousous by the time they are 2!

Keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow is a better day since I’m on my own and I don’t want to have to pull my hair out.

Over the hump
to Pahrump.
The babies, Grandma and I spent the day in Pahrump with Auntie Kristy and had tons of fun. Thank you for all of the help Kristy, Kristie, Amber, Grandma Bea, Alexee, Brad, and Grandma! I got to jump on the trampoline, play shuffle board, go shopping, have a yummy home cooked dinner, and play house while everyone else fed and played with Shenzie and Heaten - it was great!!!!

Alexee loves her cousin Shenzie - she helped me feed her and finally got to kiss all of her “spongie parts” (their faces).

They are both getting so big! Time sure does fly.

This is some serious multi-tasking! Go Bradley Go!!

What a difference a year makes! Hard to believe my little ones will be as big as Braiden in less than one year.
