Dear Little Pickleheads,
Last month was indeed the “magic month”. You are now into more of a schedule, going from eating every 3 hours to every 4 hours (which is like Christmas everyday). I now have time to brush my teeth, and my hair! And I even managed to read two books this month. Not much considering I used to average 6+ a month, but I’ll take what I can get.

You both found your hands, you love to suck on them all of them time. You suck so hard you actually make slurping sounds. One day you two little beauties are going to give some good hickeys! Since Shenzie is not allowed to date until she is 25 (per daddy) I guess she’ll have to wait awhile to experience hickeyness!

Little Heaten,
You are getting so big! When we first brought you home from the hospital you would lie on my chest and your little legs would hardly reach my belly button - now you have just about outgrown me. (Not too hard to do since apparently I’m a midget).
Rocking your ‘toque’ like a gangsta!
You are so adorable I want to eat you up! I’m sorry to say that you lost your hair. It seemed like one day it was there and the next it wasn’t. Your daddy was very upset you lost it all - now you look just like him!

This month you also learned how to grab, hit, and hold your toys. You used to lie under the activity mat and stare into space - now you love play time. You get under there and hit the animals, grab them, kick them, and smile the whole time. It is the cutest thing. I put you in the jumparoo for the first time the other day - I’m not quite sure you knew what to make of it, but soon you’ll be bouncing up and down laughing and I can’t wait! You had your first giggle on January 23, 2006, but only do it under very special circumstances. I don’t know what those circumstances are, so feel free to tell me so I can hear it more. I could listen to you giggle all day long and never get sick of it.
You also learned that when you scream, mom comes running. You and your sister both like this game. You scream, I come running praying you don’t wake your sister before I get there, I put your paci back in, you smile at me and then spit it right back out and start screaming again. We do this over, and over, and over many times a day. I’m glad I amuse you so much, but I’m sure you can think of a better game to play.

You are so funny when you are going to sleep. You fight it and fight it until your little eyes just can’t stay open anymore. You throw your head from side to side - I call it your “Stevie Wonder” and when you find the perfect spot you let out a little sigh and are asleep like an Angel. I think you are going to be a morning person. First thing in the morning you give me the biggest, happiest smile. It melts my heart every single time - good thing too since mommy HATES the morning…especially 5:00am which is your new wakeup time.
I love you little man, more and more each day.
Shenzie Bear,
My little rootin’ tootin’ mamahead! Your nickname around here is Tootie Bootie - I’m sure you can guess why. =) You are the cutest little girl I ever saw and your cheeks are so round I just want to kiss them all day!

You had your first giggle on January 27, 2006 and today you giggled for daddy like a maniac. Your little eyes light up and you get all excited when you see your daddy, it is so cute. You follow me around the room with your eyes, and most days cry if I leave you. That is only cute the first couple of times, then it’s not so cute.

You are finally starting to play with your toys. You also love to watch your brother hit and kick the activity mat animals. Pretty soon you’re both going to be too big to fit under there. Good thing we have not one but two jumparoo’s, two exercise saucers, and two bouncy chairs. Double the mess!
You also LOVE to watch the TV. Anytime the TV is on you are watching it. You watch it everyday during ‘tummy time’. You can’t get enough. Once again this is cute now, but probably won’t be so cute when you whine because I won’t let you watch anymore TV.
Shenzie watching TV.
I started re-swaddling you and your brother to help you sleep better. You both look like little Glo Worms - but lately you scream if I swaddle you tight. It is a delicate process - you have to be swaddled just right, not too tight, not too loose.

Next week you go to the Doctor for your four month exam. You have to get shots again which is not fun. We will be starting solids this month and I’m so very scared. I have feeding you both down to 20 minutes, I can only imagine the time and mess starting solids is going to be. Just when things get easier they get hard again. Such is being a mommy and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the whole wide world!

I love you Shenzie Weather…..forever and always.
