It is so cute to see the babies learn and do new things. They are playing tricks on me though. Shenzie will start out doing things first…rolling, scooting, taking steps, etc. and then she just stops and Heaten comes in and zooms by. He started rolling a full month after Shenzie, but once he started forget about it…he was all over the place. He has been army crawling for over a month while Shenzie just started last week. She can stand on her own and keep her balance for a long time, she can walk with me holding her hands. Heaten doesn’t keep his balance well and just barely started taking steps with me holding his hands….but I’ll bet that he is going to zoom by and be walking before her even though she has a head start. Little crazies.
Here is Shenzie the day after she finally learned how to “crawl”….she does the inch worm…it is so freaking cute!

Life is going to be crazy when they are both walking. Already they are getting into EVERYTHING. It seems like the few things they are not supposed to touch (the cable box and books) are what they go for every time. They are crawling to each other and scratching (Shenzie), pulling hair (Shenzie again), and hitting heads (Heaten). I imagine many bumps, bruises, and bites are on the way.
Hi, it’s me, Heaten.

Totally awesome. Heaten looks like such a real little BOY in that picture. His big paw! AW!

Oh yes, they get into SO much when they start walking! But it is fun to watch them finally be able to see the things that catch their interest. I felt like their little personalities exploded when they could walk, like we finally knew what they wanted.
To answer your question from my blog, I found 0-4 months to be the hardest! I don’t think any challenge could be harder than that. With sleep, I find I can deal with ANYTHING. That said, 9-15 months was such a honeymoon. Every day was filled with fun and laughter. I still love every day but wow, the fighting is out of control! And while I find double tantrums cute, it’s hard when they both need hugs at the same time but throw even bigger tantrums when you hug them at the same time…
