Last year I was so overwhelmed with being a new mother to twins that I really wasn’t “feeling” Christmas. We didn’t decorate…hell, we didn’t even get a tree much to my families dismay. I promised that this year we would get a tree. Little did I know that the Crazies would be in full motion and a tree would be a BAD idea. There is no way my precious Christmas ornaments that I’ve collected for years and LOVE will be anywhere near their little destroying hands.
Solution…a little 4 foot pint sized tree hidden in the corner and barricaded off from the Crazies.

I thought for sure this year I would feel in the holiday spirit. The babies are older and easier and I’m no longer overwhelmed (much), but I am sorry to say that it just doesn’t feel Christmassy around here and I’m not “feeling” Christmas once again. Maybe because it means I get another year older and 33 is just not as exciting as 21 once was. Bah Humbug!!!
*So you don’t think I’m a total Scrooge I did have fun buying for the Crazies and am really excited to see them open their gifts.

aw rats! Give it a couple of years. You won’t be able to avoid it once they really get into it!

Where did you hide that pretty little tree? How funny, one year when Jonas was about 2, Crystal had all her “pretty” Ornaments he KNEW he wasn’t supposed to touch. He would look at her, sneak over to the tree, grap an ornament, drop it, which of course broke it, & then would say “Uh, Oh me time out”!! And go put himself in time out! Mine have pretty much left it alone, Carter will be the one getting into it next year!!

What a pretty tree! Even though you’re not in the spirit of the Holidays
at least you still put forth an effort for the twinzies! Maybe next year?

Next year will be more fun, as they get older it is so fun to see the
joy and amazment on their little faces… I hold those memories in
my heart! Christmas is full of rushing, wrapping, decorating but I still
love on Christmas eve watching the joy on little faces (big faces too)!
One memorable Christmas was the little present we got all 5lbs. 2ozs. of you
in a BIG RED Christmas Stocking (of course the stocking was after I gave birth
to you)!!
Love You,
mom

I’m with you. Christmas this year seems like more work than reward. I’m hoping the spirit will catch up with me next year!

We didn’t have a tree the first year either. The second year, we blocked it with a SuperYard. The third year we didn’t have any ornaments below three feet. This year, they turn the lights on and off and on and off and on and bring me the ornaments and tell me they “fell off”. Oh, sure, they fell off! I’m hoping next year, NEXT YEAR, MY crazies will leave the tree alone.
