A couple of you wondered how I find the time to read so many books with twins running about. I am a nerd. I love to read. Reading is by far my favorite past time (not including babies of course…but then again, they aren’t really a past time as say a HARD TIME)…anyway, I digress with my HUGE run on sentence.
So reading. I love it. I don’t remember much from my childhood, but one memory that stands out is Grade 3, Ms. Day’s class. She had reading day where we brought in our pillows and blankets and laid on the floor reading all day. If I ever see Ms. Day again I will tell her that she is too cool for school!!
My problem is I don’t retain things very well, and since I had the babies it is even worse. I can read a book and a year later re-read it again and it is almost like I never read it. Good for saving money on buying new books, bad because my brain is fried.
So back to how I find the time. Instead of cleaning, doing laundry, blowing out my hair I read. Ok, that’s not entirely true since all of those things get done, after I’m done reading of course. I read every single morning with my cup of coffee while the babies nap. I read at night after they go to bed, I read while they have alone playtime, and at night instead of reading How Now Brown Cow for the fifthteenhundrethtime I read them my books.
Luckily for me I married someone who loves books as much as I do. A favorite family outing is going to the library and wandering the aisles. When I was little I wanted to be a librarian. When I was 16 I worked at a Trade/Buy bookstore and LOVED it. One day when my hubby gets us rich I want to open a book store/cafe’ and spend all of my time reading and drinking yummy coffee. Ahhhh. The good life…coffee and books.
My Christmas books…two down, one to go.

Ummm..that is my dream..move to a small town and open a bookstore/cafe/bakery.
I have even went as far as planning the layout of the bookkstore (the designer in
me). I want two levels. The first level will be for the coffee shop/bakery
and the second level for the books, with high bookshelves that I need one of those
tall, leaning ladders for. I remember when Dave and I were researching Astoria,
Oregon last year, I found this little *two story* office space for rent. I told
Dave it was a sign..I’m not sure he agrees!
I guess we better move to different towns..haha.
I am with you on loving to read but how the hell can you fit in that many books?
It is so hard for me to find time to read for leisure with all the stOOpid school
books I have to read. BTW, I am reading The Handmaid’s Tale right now.
Definitely a page turner and kind of scary to think about something like that
happening.
While we are on the subject, this semester I am taking an Intro to Drama class.
Anytime you want to read and do my assignments for me just let me know..wink, wink.;)
Okay, now that I have written a novel, I’m off to..READ!!

I am the opposite. I read one book last year. My goal this year is to read at least one book a month!

A woman after my own heart! My first blog was all book reviews. Jon loves books too, we had hours-long discussions about which books to bring on our honeymoon.
Now I only find time to read once the boys are in bed. It’s hard to carve out that extra time with a full-time job and bebes.

I’m the same way, well minus the twins. Except sometimes I skip that whole cleaning thing altogether!!!!!

WOW!! You go you little reader!! I wish I read more, even when I was on bed rest & had the time I didn’t read a lot! I can finish a book when we are driving one of or LONG road trips!! I still don’t know how you do it, there are days I just wish I could PEE alone! But when they are big & in school, & don’t need me as much, I know I am going to miss the days when all they wanted was their Mommy
