Being pregnant with twins was hard. Really, really hard. The beginning 22 weeks or so weren’t bad. I was measuring 7 weeks ahead so at 22 weeks I was more like 31 weeks. At that point I was big, but not miserable. At 24 weeks I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and put on bedrest. Imagine the size of a house. That is how big I would have been hadn’t it been for the GB. While it sucked to have it, it was a blessing in disguise. It forced me to eat healthy every single day and not gain nearly as much weight as I would have otherwise. I delivered at 34 weeks and 2 days having gained a total of 44 pounds. The first two weeks postpartum I lost 33 pounds. That left 11 pounds to lose. Easy Facheesy, right? Hahah…those 11 pounds are still sitting on my ass. Enter Weight Watchers. I officially started on Monday the 18th with a goal of losing 12 pounds. When I reach my first goal I will re-evaluate if I want to continue losing more.
I’m sure other moms will agree that the aftermath of having children is not pleasant. And if you are one of the fortunate ones who didn’t have to do anything to lose the weight and looked good a week after delivery, well I’m thinking bad words for you…I’m sure you can imagine which ones. =) The rest of us have to suffer with a body that doesn’t really feel like our own. I never had this muffin top before and I’m bound and determined to lose it. Buying clothes a size larger than what I normally wear, buying shirts to hide the dough belly, and not feeling cute in any of it has grown old. I am ready to be myself again. I am ready to reclaim this disaster the babies left behind and feel good again. 9 months of pregnancy followed by 16 months of baby. I’m ready, it is time. This time I mean it, no messing around.
Wish me luck. I’ll need even more luck when I join the YMCA next month and start working out. Oh how I dread those words.
As an added incentive to lose weight and get in shape I just booked a vacation to visit my best friend in San Diego this May. That gives me 10 weeks to get it together….little itty bitty bikini here I come. (Ok, not really that itty or bitty and definitely no polka dots!).
Out with the old…

In with the new…

I think my favorite part was “dough belly”!!! That his hilarious!!! Mine is more like a dough ass… Jimmy said the other day with our asses combined we could open our own cheese factory or something like that! Pretty sad huh. I hear ya though. I have been eating salads for lunch for about 3 weeks and nothing. Not one pound! So I started my second phase which is now tuna with a little bit of mayo with a few healthy crackers. Yummy!!!

Baby fat sucks!! I am so sick of gaining, gaining, gaining with a BREEZE & then working my a– off to loose it! How does that work, no problems gaining, but BIG problems losing! The one thing that makes it easier this time is knowing that it is the last time I have to lose Baby Weight, well probably
I think the 3rd one for me right now is the hardest, this is not fun! Good Luck to you, I wish we had a gym, I am jealous!!

Oh I so hear you on this one. I have been working on my weight as well. I have lost12lbs so far 1 obs away from pre-preg weight, but I needed to lose some before the twins so I’m gonna keep on keeping on. I would like to lose 20 more lbs or so. And tell me about our bodies not being the same. I have the same jeans as before preg and they don’t fit the same in the stomach area. Good luck!

From your pictures I think you look perfect!
I was back down at prepregnancy weight but then when the kiddos started nursing
less my weight started creeping up and now I’m a few pounds above. But for me,
more than the number on the scale is the belly that has absolutely no muscle
tone. It is freaky. I really need to get back into pilates and other exercise…
but then I remind myself, I have twins and work full time, so when exactly is
THAT gonna happen? Shirts that hide me it is!

Funny I just ordered Turbo Jam to loose the cough 10 pounds (reality—20) that
I desperately want to take off… Let’s do this together.
