We had a great Memorial Day weekend full of great weather, park play, sleeping in, and yummy food. On Monday we took the babies to the Springs Preserve since we’d never been and the weather was perfect. It was nice, but the layout was kind of confusing. The babies did great in their stroller as we wandered around looking at all the plants and such.

We then headed to Red Robin for dinner. We don’t usually eat out with the babies since we don’t really get to eat while out with them. It used to be that we would go to a restaurant, sit down, and then spend the entire time dealing with crabby babies. We barely got to touch our food let alone carry on a conversation. I am so glad to say that I think those days are behind us!!!! We did do some entertaining before the food arrived, but after that it was easy facheesy. The babies both ate so good (I wasn’t worried about Shenzie since she isn’t so picky). Heaten ate oranges! With a fork! He NEVER eats oranges. Of course Shenzie refused them. They had french fries and pizza. And! Jeff and I were able to eat our entire dinners while sitting at the restaurant! That hasn’t happened since the babies were newborns. It was great.

The lowlight of the weekend came Monday night when Shenzie had a big accident. Her favorite game is Runny Runny. She LOVES to run back and forth from her bedroom to our bedroom and then back. She is very fast at everything she does and running is no exception. While playing runny runny we heard a HUGE crash and then of course hysterical crying. Poor little girl did Superman right on a wood box and got a bloody nose and fat lip. Thank goodness Jeff was home or I would have freaked out! The amount of blood pouring from her tiny nose wasn’t a crazy amount, but it was still quite a bit. She is a tough cookie though. She went to bed and slept through the night without a peep of pain and woke up the next day happy as could be.

This picture doesn’t look nearly as bad as it was, but I was too freaked out to get a better picture of all the blood.

Looks like you had a fun weekend. Dave and I have been talking about going
to the Springs Preserve for months now…looks beautiful. Hopefully we
have a few more cool weekends and we can go before it get too hot!
As far as not enjoying eating out..yes, we are in the thick of things there
as my daughter does not sit still for one second!
Poor S, hope she is feeling better. Kids are so resilent, aren’t they?

Yay for successful dining out with babies.
Boo for boo boos. Poor Shenzie. We had a few spills at home this weekend, too, but
a lot less blood.

Poor baby!!!
OH! I just remembered something that happened at our house this weekend. I’ll have to copy and paste this to my blog
We have a safety lock on the cabinet under the kitchen sink so they can’t get in. As long as i’m in there with them I don’t freak out if it’s off cause I’m right there to see if they open the door. This time I didn’t remember the lock was off. I turned around to look and saw Jackson holding two dishwasher tab thingies. I ran past Madison to take them away from him. Then I looked at Madison who was spitting out the crystals of soap! Chris completely FLIPPED out and rushed her to the bathroom yelling “what do we do???” I swiped it out of her mouth. I’m pretty sure I got it all and also pretty sure she didn’t swallow any. She’s been completely fine ever since.

Poor Shenzie!! I am so glad she is ok…having your kiddo get hurt is just the worst thing in the world.
Good news about the restaurant too! We don’t eat our very often for the same reasons you have but maybe we should give it another try…

We have had a few owies here too. Poor Karter’s legs look like someone beat him from all the bruises. We have also had a several outings where the boys were behaved but sometimes it’s such a hasel and we don’t get to enjoy our food. Shenzie is like Karter they take a lickin and keep on ticking Kolton usually cries more.
