All About Me and Babies17 Dec 2008 06:33 am

Is it weird that in two year and two months I have only changed a stinky diaper when we were out in public two times? Once at a park and once at the mall. After smelling stinky kids at the library, the park, and the store last week I think maybe instead of scaring the shit out of the babies I scared the shit into the babies. Hahah. I’m just cracking myself up over here. Ok, enough grossness, Jeff might have a heart attack when he reads that.

Kicked back with his Elmo’s.

Shenzie’s newest obsession, lots and LOTS of bows!

On with our regular broadcast.

Oh wait. That was all I have time for. Between two sick babies (yes, AGAIN), getting ready for Christmas, and editing (a gazillion) photos I am too tired, busy, crazy, tired, and busy to post anything more exciting that shit. Carry on*.

*Who can name where that is from?

When I was little we lived in Twin Falls, Idaho. Who da hoe? I da hoe. Ok, enough hick humor. Anyhow, we lived there until I was eight. Idaho gets COLD in the winter. Not that I remember, because as we all know I have the worlds worst memory, but I have pictures to prove it.

Exhibit A:

I was one years old and looking oh so stylish in my yellow hooded snow suit.

Exhibit B:

Here I was four years old, once again in yellow (Mom, was yellow your favorite color)?

Exhibit C:

Here I was about 7 (back of picture says ‘81 Our worst snow storm since the 40’s’). Kristy and Angela battled snow mountain with me.

So you see, I have extensive background with snow.

You will then wonder why, if I am such a snow pro, was I jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas this morning when I went downstairs and saw that it was snowing.

I think I can remember 3 other times that it snowed in Las Vegas and the snow actually stuck to the ground.

I ran to Jeff and told him we had to get the babies RIGHT THEN to see their first snow. After much oohing and ahhing (mainly from me) at the snow through the window I let them have a taste of the real deal.

As usual Heaten LOVED it and Shenzie was scared.

She would step over the snow, but wouldn’t go in it.

I had them so bundled up they could barely walk! Since we live in the desert where it NEVER EVER snows we don’t own “real” winter coats, more like light jackets.

One time of bundling them all up and taking it all back off was enough (I’m sure all of you winter people are just laughing at me and our one day out of 1000 of snow). I don’t know how I will ever survive living in the cold snows of Canada, somebody kill me now, because just thinking about it makes my bones ache with cold.

Say My Name Video Edition:

My babies are no longer babies when they can say my name. Almost makes me want to cry. =)

We are a musical family (and by we I mean Jeff). We have guitars, keyboards, electronic drums, a piano, and baby musical instruments all of which the babies love to play. Jeff recently brought out his drum pad and as you can see the babies love it. They also love playing the piano with the drum sticks. Sweet music to my ears, NOT!

Might as well just be a photo week since I have zero time to actually post. =( I’ll be over here today, but once again be warned…the incredible cuteness will make your heart melt.

Mesmerized by our beautiful Charlie Brown tree. The other story is they weren’t mesmerized by the beauty of our tree…..they were too busy kicking the Christmas Balls to be mesmerized by anything!!!

“Helping” us decorate the tree.

And because I can’t post a picture of just one baby here is the other smiling worm. This one speaks to me in a much different way. It makes me laugh and smile just looking at it.

Some pictures just grab me and worm their way straight to my heart.

Funny Faces Edition:

All About Me and Babies and Photos04 Dec 2008 06:36 am

Whew! I feel like I’m going a million miles an hour and not really getting anywhere. The holidays make everything (and everyone) CRAZY!!! Jeff had a super long 5 day weekend which was so wonderful. I felt like I was run over by a Mac Truck yesterday when he went back to work. Things are so much easier when he is home. The babies are so much better because they get the extra attention. I get breaks away from the Crazies which makes me a much nicer, more patient Mama. What does Jeff get you ask? He gets the Crazies, the Crazy Wife, and he get to help me clean. I’m sure he LOVES days off. =)

I am 90% done Christmas shopping. We put up our tree over the weekend. Poor Charlie Brown tree. I’ll post pictures, but it really is almost embarrassing how tiny our tree is. The babies LOVE it and the lights and that is all that counts (hopefully).

I have tons of cleaning to catch up on, but with 3 photo shoots this weekend who knows when that will happen (poor Jeff will get stuck with the cleaning and babies all weekend, heehee).

The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly.

Apparently I am the ugly. After I get out of the shower Shenzie tells me that my hair is ewwwww. She doesn’t like wet hair on Mama. She also told me to put on makeup the other day. Really? Am I that scary without it??!? Apparently she thinks so. =)

The Good is my “fat” jeans that I’ve had for years are no longer wearable. I have to belt them on and even then they are sagging off. Yippeeee!

The Bad. Even though I weigh less now than before I got pregnant things are just not the same. The butt got flatter, the belly got mushier, and I have a few stretch marks (EWWW). On the plus side my feet didn’t grow. My hair grew like a weed and is super long now. And my arms look pretty good from carrying two 25+ pound babies around. =)

Other This and That

Shenzie is scared of the windshield wipers. We had rain (FINALLY) last week and she cried and covered her eyes to hide from the wipers. Poor little buggle. She also came down with some weird virus that had her running a 103.5 temperature two days in a row. Today she is back to normal, thank goodness. Nothing is sadder than seeing your baby sick and miserable and not being able to do anything about it.

I’m just messing around with some new textures - What do you think - like, hate?

And a HUGE Happy Birthday to my oldest friend Denise!!! No sillyheads, not oldest as in OLD…oldest as in I’ve known her since I was 12. Whew, that is a LONG time ago, maybe we are old!!!

This was when we were maybe 19 or so (I’m on the left in black). We drove to Salt Lake to see Pearl Jam (and I could TOTALLY be wrong since my memory is long gone, but I seem to remember a trip to Utah to see a band). Who knows, anyhow…HAPPY BIRTHDAY D!
