Dress Up Shoes Edition:

Jeff says poor Heaten for having to wear dress up shoes. Little does Daddy know that Heaten asks for his dress up shoes daily. I’m sorry, but girls clothes are just more fun. Sparkles, glitter, beads, etc. Boys are BORING! My plan is after halloween to get them some dress up clothes since we have zero and hopefully they’ll be some cool boy stuff.

Hey, we dressed my little brother Levi up as “Annie” daily and he turned out ok.

Well, maybe ok is pushing it a bit. =)

Bullet Style
This week has been crazy busy and normally I would break my back to get some posts up, but I’m just T.I.R.E.D so you get the bullet version of what we’ve been up to.
We:
*Hosted a playdate with our MOM’s Group. Three sets of twins and two other children would seem crazy, but it went off without a hitch and we had a great time!
*Are staying out of the 110 degree weather.
*Went to the movies and saw Surf’s Up. Cute, cute movie. Great soundtrack.
*Have watched Wall-E no less than 20+ times since Sunday. The first thing Heaten says when he wakes up is Wall-E. He LOVES Eve(a).
*Are doing LOTS of art projects and wasting money browsing stores in an attempt to stay cool.

The lazy way to color
I:
*Am processing like crazy. Things are busy at the LBP front and while I LOVE it, it can be quite stressful trying to keep up with everything (hence, the lack of posting here).
*Am eating like crap and not going to the gym. Bad bad bad.
*Have not cooked a real meal all week. Bad bad bad.
*Am doing very good at getting Shenzie and Heaten to eat more fruits and somewhat good with veggies.
Shenzie:
*Is crazy cute and spunky as ever.
*Is singing up a storm every single day.
*Is fully day potty trained - YIPPEE!
*Is fascinated with all things baby.
*Is awesome!

Shenzie watching a slideshow of herself when she was a baby
Heaten:
*Is cute and cuddly as ever.
*Is addicted to Wall-E
*Is going through a crazy meltdown crying crazy phase that I’ll be glad to see leave.
*Is waking at 6am instead of his normal 7:30 which is NOT fun.
*Went on his first “ride”. A GIANT crazy bus with an even crazier bus driver doing donuts, speeding around and around. He didn’t cry, but he didn’t laugh either. =)
*Is awesome!

I Love:
*I love this age (minus the crazy Heaten tantrums).
*I love that we’re planning our first family vacation to San Diego and CANNOT wait to go!
*I love my wonderful husband who puts up with my crazy.
*I love that Jeff FINALLY got a new car that he loves. We’re almost through with the car accident drama - Thank GOD!

*Just ignore the crappy quality photos - I was too lazy to get out my good camera so these were all PNS camera pictures.

Things are crazy around here with multiple photo sessions to process, twins playdates, re-designing Lesley Barr Photography Galleries, and all of the other fun day to day things. Will be back soon [hopefully].

Curly Sue and Cowlick Boy Edition:
Shenzie’s curls are just crazy. I love them to bits, but OMG, are they ever maintenance.

Heaten wanted pictures of his hair too. You can see the ‘oopsie’ I made with the clippers on his last haircut.

And then they wanted me to take a picture of them drinking their juice and making the boxes “kiss”. So cute.

Tidbits
*The other day when I turned on Curious George and went to get Heaten his milk he started yelling “TOO HIGH” “TOOOOOOOOOO HIGHHHHHHHHH”!! I had no clue what he was talking about until he pointed to the TV. Apparently it was too loud.
*”Heaten is turning into such a big boy. Well, except for the crying tonight to wear Shenzie’s tights.” said by Daddy last night (7.09.09).
*The newest game around here, taking off diapers when they are full of poop. Oh joy, you can imagine I just love this game. Almost as bad as Shenzie looking right at me and peeing on the floor. Fun times! (7.01.09)
*We made our first “Diaper Free” today and came home dry with no accidents (7.10.09). Go Shenzie! *Updated - she is fully pp day trained, we’re working on the stinky part now.
*Las Vegas Sucks - We have extreme heat warnings (113 degrees) this week (7.17.09).
*I am getting EXCITED about our upcoming family vacation (our first) to San Diego for the babies/kids third birthday.
*Can you guess what this word is? op ip al!
Shenzie and Heaten’s favorite word - Hospital! Where they take you if you run in the street and the cars hit you. Or, where Daddy goes when they break his car, “No - no silly drivers, don’t you hit our daddy”. Yep, they are trained well!
*The babies LOVE movie night. Heaten’s favorite is Wall-E and Shenzie picked out Bolt yesterday that we’re watching again tonight. Good thing they don’t mind staying in sometimes, because it is HOT HOT HOT out there.
*Ok, that is all.
Weekend Recap [Week 7]
Although this wasn’t the most fun weekend I’ve ever had I’m still sad it is over. Saturday started out bright and early with lots of car shopping. Ugh! Auntie Stacey babysat the kids (thank you SO much Sissy) so Jeff and I could try to get a new car. Car shopping sucks! We found the car that we wanted online and drove 40 minutes to the dealership only to find the car was sold the day before. Seriously. You’ve got to be kidding me. Jeff test drove a few cars and decided on a Chrysler 300. We had to order it from California so it should be here next week (hopefully). I am SO glad that is out of the way. Whew!
While the babies napped I FINALLY got my hair done. I haven’t had it colored in a REALLY long time, so this was a BIG change. I had the underneath dyed black with dark dark brown low lights put in the top. I really like it darker and now my sisters can’t say I have “hippie hair” anymore. It is still really long, but the ends are now healthy and soft again. I don’t know why I don’t get my hair done more often…it feels so good when I leave the salon…it just takes FOREVER to get it done.
Saturday afternoon we hung out at home and watched a little tv. This weekend we had an extreme heat warning so the freak thunderstorm we had for 20 minutes was an awesome surprise. It rained and rained and rained really hard for 15 minutes and then stopped as suddenly as it started. Heaten and I played in the [dirty] gutter water the entire time, stomping and laughing. It was great!
Sunday morning I had a family photo session and I felt SO bad for the poor little girls. They were 1 and 3 and it was SO hot, but they were troopers as were their Moms and so far the photos look great. When I got home I was just TIRED, HOT, and itchy from rolling around in the grass (I’m allergic to it, blech). While the babies napped I worked and then we took the babies to Bucca di Beppo for the first time. Jeff had never been and ended up LOVING it. The babies/kids did SO good. This was the best they’ve ever been in a restaurant. I am hopeful that eating out is soon going to be fun instead of constant work.
I feel tired, tired, tired, and hot. The rest of the night will be vegging in front of Big Brother with a tall glass of water and some chocolate. YUM! Hope you had a great *cool* weekend!!

Elmo Booty Edition:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shenzie’s little round booty. And Heaten’s little flat booty cracks me up. They found some old shoes in a clothing bin and played dress up all morning. Undies and shoes that don’t fit…hilarious.

Shenzie is pretty much day pp potty trained and wears her Elmo or Hello Kitty panties all day. Heaten, not even close. This was a rare instance he wanted to wear his Elmo’s too…and of course it ended in pee all over the floor.

First Spanking
Jeff and I made the choice to have a spank free house (this is not saying anything at all to those that spank, just our own personal choice). My personal feeling is you spank more out of your anger than anything and I’m glad we both agree with this. We use time out for bad behavior and a sticker chart for good behavior. We have been really blessed with great kids so spanking isn’t really necessary.
Until today (Tuesday July 7th). Shenzie woke up on the WRONG side of the bed and nothing I could do would snap her out of her crazy mode. She was insane and being really mean to Heaten and me. To try to shake the mood I decided to take them to get our car washed and get some breakfast. They love the car wash and breakfast out is a treat so I thought for sure this would be a hit!! Nope, she screamed and cried that she didn’t want to go etc. etc. etc. My plan was to load Heaten in the car and then get the crazed lunatic Shenzie and try to calm her down for a minute before getting into the car. Hahaha. She had other plans.
Heaten and I are in the garage when I hear the garage door lock. Not just the door lock, but the deadbolt as well. Not good, but not a problem since I leave my car keys in my car which have a house key on them. I go to get the keys and realize they are in the house with Shenzie where my Mom left them after driving Miss Daisy yesterday (hahahah MOM!). Once upon a time Heaten locked me out in the backyard (on accident) so I hid a set of keys out back in case it ever happened again. The only problem is I keep a lock on the gate to get in the backyard and the key to the gate is out back with the house key. Recap: Shenzie is in the house alone. Heaten and I are in the 120 degree garage and I have no key and no way of getting in the house. I start pounding on the door like a crazy woman screaming at Shenzie to unlock the door (she totally knows how to do this, just chose not to). I am getting so PISSED and scared. My neighbors probably thought I was possessed with the amount of screaming and banging I did. I go around the house to the side window and see Shenzie in the dining room screaming and crying so I yell to her to go UNLOCK THE DOOR! She looks at me and screams. Guess that isn’t happening. I go to the back gate to see if there is a way I can jump over to get the keys, and realize the gate isn’t locked. The lock broke and I forgot to change it so it was open. Hallelujah!!! I run back there, get the keys, race around front and open the door. I am FURIOUS at this point - partly scared and relieved that nothing happened, but mostly furious that Shenzie locked us out and wouldn’t let us back in. I ran over to her and swatted her butt and yelled at her. If she wasn’t crying before she really was now. After about 10 minutes of me trying to calm her (and myself) down I explained to her that what she did was dangerous and did she understand. I am hopeful that the spank and yelling did the trick and they will never do that again. Just in case I went and got two more house keys made to hide in the garage.

Art!
The babies (especially Shenzie) love art time. We have crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, washable water colors, finger paints, stamps, stickers, and play-doh. Their favorite right now is the watercolor paints. They paint daily and do a really good job!

They have started to actually paint in the lines (as much as a two year old can), and really get into doing different colors. I love art time not only because I love anything arty and creative, but because it keeps them entertained without fighting and gives Mama many breaks.

I was so excited to find those ink pads at Michaels. I have been looking for washable, non toxic ink everywhere and FINALLY found them! They are really inexpensive and are truly washable (as you can see they like to hand stamp, so THANK GOODNESS they are washable!)
And don’t even lie, you know you wish you had mad play-doh skills like me!!!!

Yes, it is supposed to be a cat.
