Last fall work got a little busy. Summer is just TOO hot to shoot outdoors so when fall rolls around it is heavenly. With the heaven comes the crazy. I told myself that I wasn’t going to make myself crazy, stressed, or go insane with work this fall so I came up with a plan (imagine that Sissies, me, planning - hardy har har). Since I stay home with the twins I only work weekends when Jeff is home. My plan was to take one session per weekend which gives me enough time to post process, upload to gallery, and do all of the other miscellaneous things (of which there are MANY) during the following week. So it is August 28th (as I’m writing this) and I am now booked until Thanksgiving. I am taking December off (with the exception of newborns) so technically I am booked until January. And then I get a call for a newborn so of course I MUST squeeze him in. And then I get a call for an eight week old and of course I MUST also squeeze him in. And then I get a call for a repeat client and of course I MUST squeeze them in. And then my calender is suddenly beyond full and I still have a couple of clients who want to book. Ut oh. It looks like this fall is going to be crazy, stressed, and insane so if posts seem sporadic around here you know the reason why. =)

*Edited to add another two newborns I just booked. OMG, the crazy just became crazier!!

And speaking of newborns, here is the cutest little honeypot that will just make you want another baby (unless you are me and then you run screaming from the idea).

These two Crazies are enough to keep me beyond busy (and crazy)!!

I realize this photo is completely out of focus, but I love it anyway. I love Heaten’s crazy look and his fang teeth.

And Shenzie just chillin’ on the playhouse ground.

*As a side note I stopped Weekend Recap. There is just too much to do in too little time and that wasn’t cutting it.

Say Cheese Edition:

Could this smile be any faker?!?! This is why I NEVER ask a child to say cheese. =)

More specifically I am a thief.

Now before you get all crazy and accuse me of stealing 8 out of 10 times it was unknown that I was actually stealing. The football I tried to take from the park….well, that one I knew about. Most times it is something that fell in the cart behind my bag or something left on the cart bottom that I forgot about. I probably could go back inside and pay, but A) I’m not unloading the twins to pay for something I clearly got away with and B) it is there responsibility to check my cart so too bad suckers!!

Yesterday’s thievery starts with a Tar*get trip. While reaching down to get a 12 pack of Diet Coke for Jeff my hand went through the handle carrier thingy and my finger got sliced open by an open coke can. How the can of coke was sliced down the middle is a mystery, but it sure sliced the shit out of my finger. I was bleeding everywhere so when a worker walked by I asked for a bandaid and gave them the case of coke so no one else would get cut. She comes back without the bandaid, but has a manager in tow. Apparently since I cut my finger I had to fill out an accident report. Ugh! All I wanted was a bandaid. So we (me and the twins) follow the manager to the open register where she makes me sit down (I guess in case I pass out from loss of blood because they won’t give me a bandaid). The twins are all oooooh and ahhhhhh, over the blood dripping down my hand. The manager leaves to get the camera to document the cut and while she is gone the security guard comes over and tells me I can’t be behind a live register. I tell him that his Manager put me there so he stands guard over me the entire time just watching me suspiciously. Finally the Manager comes back and lets hound dog off the hook. She sends me on my merry way WITHOUT a bandaid and I go checkout. The security guard is still watching me suspiciously which is weird. What did he think - I cut myself on purpose so I could sit behind the register? Anyhow I check out and since he is STILL watching me I give him a little smile and head out the door. It is when I get to the car that I realize I didn’t pay for the two cases of cokes under the cart. Ooops. I figure it serves them right for making me bleed all the way home, but I’m REALLY surprised hound dog didn’t notice with his watchful eyes on me the entire time.

Later that night Jeff tells me the story of when he took the twins to Wal*mart while I was on vacation. Shenzie and Heaten like to hold things while we shop so when we get to the register sometimes I forget they are still holding them. Apparently this is what happened to Jeff so at least I’m not the only thief in the family. =)

I Will Miss These Faces Edition:

I am headed to San Diego this weekend for some much needed girl time and R & R. For three blissful days I will not have to deal with crying, yelling, screaming, fighting, and anything else that makes a Mama tired. This is not to say I won’t miss these little faces like crazy!!! It will be good to be gone and it will be good to come home!

Jeff and I are always trying to find new stuff to do with the babies. Ok - side note interruption - I just cannot call them babies anymore since they are almost three. Calling them kids just sounds weird and I never wanted to lump them together in the twins category, but it looks like that is what I am going to do for lack of a better name for them. So anyway, we are always looking for new things for the twins to do. I recently found a train about an hour away that takes you on a 45 minute ride through the desert. Not so pretty, kind of boring, but of course the twins had a blast. Well, not the twins, Heaten had a blast.

Shenzie started off the trip scared and crying, but eventually warmed up [a bit].

Get ready for picture overload.

Since the train ride Heaten has carried his little bronze train EVERYWHERE we go. He loves it. He asks everyday to look at the “old train with the nose” (the middle picture below).

He tells me about the old trains and new trains and how they go Chooo Chooo. Shenzie doesn’t talk about it much at all, poor little girl. For Christmas I want to get them some sort of a train track/hot wheels track/some kind of track - any suggestions?

Horray!!!

Heaten went PeePee in the potty for the very first time today!!! He was VERY excited and cheered, clapped, yelled, and laughed right along with me. Then he promptly asked for candy. Hey, whatever works right? =)

*Bells* *Whistles* *Cheers*

Holy Moly I reached 100 Edition!

There is nothing better than seeing my babies love each other. It melts my heart every time. Shenzie was giving Heaten a kiss because he fell down in the grass and was crying. I just love everything about this photo. So stinking cute!

If you have nothing better to do head on over here and see some cuteness to the extreme. Hell, even if you have something better to do go anyway, she is just THAT cute! And I’m not just saying that just because she is my niece!! =)

A sneak peek to entice you over (bwahahahah):

We have had many modes of transportation here at the old Casa de Barr. Pre walking days they had their Pimp Rides. Man where those things ever BIG!

August 2007

For the babies first birthday they got the scoot along cars that they still use to chase each other around the house.

November 2007

March 2008

They have their outdoor trikes we got them for their second birthday that they can’t quite pedal, but like to scoot around on anyhow (very slow riding indeed).

April 2009

I have been talking to some friends who said their kids couldn’t ride the trike/low rider style, but could ride a regular bike so last weekend we took them to the store and tested the theory. Sure enough Shenzie got right on and started pedaling around the store!!

August 2009

We tried out the bigger bike with training wheels, but they were just a little too advanced right now. We wanted something they could use this fall when it gets cool enough to go outside again. I think the bikes we chose will be grown out of quickly, but they will get the job done in the meantime until we can get “real” bikes. Shenzie LOVES her bike and helmet and rides it around and around the house all day. Heaten is getting there, but is not nearly as good at pedaling as Shenzie. He is content to scoot around on it Flintstones style.

Here is a short video of one of her first rides around the kitchen.

I love my husband more than life. He is the most amazing, smart, loving, wonderful man and I am so grateful for him. I love my babies more than life times two. They are so sweet, fun, loving, perfect, and wonderful. My heart is overflowing in love. I am so happy that I have been able to stay home with my babies and watch them grow and learn. I am so grateful to my husband for making it possible. I couldn’t imagine a life without my family who I love so much.
