Dear Shenzie and Heaten,
Oh my heavens, where do I even begin. First let me just say that I am in some alternate universe where my little babies grew up and turned three. How did the time go by so quickly? I am so blessed and lucky to be your Mother. I am so fortunate to stay home with you and never miss a thing. Sometimes I will just look at you and stare in amazement at how wonderful you both are. You have changed me as a person in the best of ways.
The last year has been so fun. The older you get the more fun, funny, and entertaining you become. You tell us stories, play alone for periods of time, can communicate your wants and needs. Don’t get me wrong, we still have some major tantrums around here, but by far the good days outweigh the bad ones.
You both are in the “One More” stage. You ask for one more of everything, ESPECIALLY one more minute x5 before nap and bedtimes. You are both awesome sleepers and much to my amazement are still quite happy in your cribs. You are not even aware there is such a thing as climbing out. Yay for Mama!!
You still fight quite a bit, but are learning to share your toys (mainly Shenzie shares and Heaten steals), and are playing together more frequently. You have started rough housing with one another and get quite rough at times. Remember, it is all fun and games until someone looses and eye, or breaks a leg, etc. =) We used to have community toys that you both shared. These days Shenzie gravitates towards her “babies”, bottles, stuffed animals while Heaten loves his trains, cars, and dinosaurs.

Shenzie Weather Echo,
Oh how I love you and your antics. You are such a funny, silly, strong, stubborn, feisty little girl. I love every minute of you even when you are driving me insane. It is quite apparent you are my daughter. Not only do we have the same eyes, we have the exact same crazy personality. I can see our future together and it is full of many battles, yelling, and drama. Lucky for you I love you so so very much!

You are talking up a storm and will tell me stories every single day. Daddy and I laugh because we can understand you, but anyone else listening would hear gibberish. You love to tell me NO MAMA! Sit Right HERE Mama! No, NOW! Are you noticing a pattern with the bossiness. What can I say, once again, like mother like daughter. When Daddy calls you nicknames you always inform him that your name is Nenee Weather Echo Barr. I love this and really need to get it on the video camera before you stop doing it.
You Love:
To sing
Dance
Gymnastics (you jump on the trampoline really well, swing on the monkey bars, do hot dog rolls and foward rolls, donkey kicks, side donkey cartwheels, handstands on the wall, and listen very well during gymnastics)
Act silly
Antagonize me, Daddy, and Heaten
To eat (especially candy and ice cream)
Baby Bear
To scream and be loud
To be tickled
Your Cousin Haylee
You Do Not Love:
To be out of site of Mama
Most Strangers
To be told no
You know all of your colors, can count to ten, and identify D, M, S, H, A, C, and can write H. You can sing the ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle, and Rock a Bye Baby. You love Five little Monkey’s jumping on the bed.
You have all of your baby teeth and weigh 30 pounds and are 36(ish) inches tall ????? You wear a size 7-8 shoes (7 in Converse and 8 in regular shoes). Size 3/4t top and 3t bottoms. Your favorite undies are Hello Kitty or anything pink. Your favorite colors are pink and purple (much to my dismay). You love to feed your baby and tell her shhhh, shhhh. You love all babies and will stop to say hello to each and every one when we are out. You love your “long” hair and sway it from side to side showing me how long it is. You like to get dressed on your own (you can put on your own pants, socks, and crocs). Given the choice you will wear pink everyday and love skirts. You can ride your bike all by yourself and love to go in circles around and around. You love to gallop, run, and walk with purpose.
I love you to bits and bites and cannot wait to see what age three brings for you.
Love,
Mama

My little Heaten Bear,
You warm my heart. You are a little cuddle monkey and love to sit on Mama and Daddy’s lap and watch your tv. You are so sweet and loving. You really like to copy what big sissy is doing and especially love the yelling game. Although it hurts my ears I can’t help but laugh at you and Shenzie’s yelling. You have started looking out for Shenzie and if she is too far away from us or not acting nice you will let her know. Be nice Nenee.

Your new love is choo choo trains. You got a Thomas the Train set for your birthday and play with it for hours. You take Billy or Thomas with you wherever you go. You love to go bye bye and today told me we should go to Tar*get. I guess that means we spend too much time there. =) The words I hear the most from you are Milk, monkey (George), choochoo movie, and pee in the potty.
You love:
Milk
Sitting on our laps watching tv and drinking milk
Quesadillas and cheesy roll up
Choo Choo Trains
TV (George, Little Einsteins)
Movies (Thomas the Train, Wall-E, Cars, The Incredibles)
To hold my hand
Your Cousin Ethan
You Do Not Love:
To eat
To go to bed
Getting your eyes wet
Dirty hands
You have all of your baby teeth and weigh 30.5 pounds and are 36(ish) inches tall. You wear a size 8 shoe, size 3/4t tops and 3t bottoms. You will only wear Thomas the Train undies and Elmo socks. You are VERY particular with how things are done and how they should be. If a door is open you close it. If something is out of place you make it right. If Shenzie dares touch your toys you throw a major fit and usually end up hitting her. You don’t like to wear pants, only shorts which isn’t going to work out too well with winter coming. You are a horrible eater and I have to force every bite of healthy food on you.
You can count to 5, know most of your colors but like to be funny and call everything BLUE! or Not blue. You can sing your ABC’s but choose not to most of the time. You can pedal your bike all by yourself, but most of the time do it Flintstones style. Where Shenzie walks with a purpose you follow in your Daddy’s footsteps and walk VERY slow, gazing around and taking your sweet time. You don’t rush most things and let me tell you, my patience takes a daily beating between you and Daddy.
I love you to bits and bites little man and can’t wait to see what age three brings for you.
Love,
Mama
