Princess Tutu Edition:
Shenzie all dressed up for Disney on Ice. This was before she added her Princess Crown, purse, and wand.

And of course I have to share twin love which continues to melt my heart.

Fished my Wish
Once upon a time before the twinzies could talk it was hard to know why they were crying. Were they hurt? Hungry? Angry? Who knew. In my mind I would always think ‘I can’t wait for them to be able to tell me what they need/want/whats wrong’. Now that they are talking it is SO much better.
Typical sentences from Heaten (who usually refers to himself as Heaten):
Heaten want to go bye bye.
Heaten want a new choo choo.
Heaten need help mama.
Heaten no like that.
Heaten want to go upstairs.
I LOVE this talk. It is so adorable. Well, it is not so adorable at 2:30am last night when “Heaten has a belly ache” woke me up. At first I was worried he was sick, but then remembered I had cooked spaghetti for dinner and Heaten didn’t eat any. He looked at the noodles and said, “Heaten no want sauce” so I gave him plain spaghetti which he didn’t eat. Instead he ate spoonfuls of peanut butter from the jar (gross, I know). So I’m fairly certain he was just hungry, but it was pretty awesome he could tell me what was wrong (even if it was at 2:30).
My little Heaten bear and his enormous noggin (not helped by the lens distortion).

Thank You!
Thank you all for your feedback regarding mergalicious. At this time I’ve decided to keep my blogs separate, but that may change in the future.

Mergalicious!
As most people I have a “to do” list that is a mile long. Just when it starts to seem like it is shrinking, something creeps up and WHAM! It is a mile long again. Of course, my procrastination getting the twinzies into Pre-School isn’t helping. Once I have a few hours to get stuff done I think I can maybe get a handle on things [I hope]. As of now I am beyond buried and need to make a few changes. One of those involves merging this blog with my Photography Blog. Keeping them both up to date is becoming impossible, and merging them would save me a lot of time.
Of course I have concerns. My biggest concern is not everyone who reads my photo blog wants to or cares about reading about my kids and our personal life. Will I lose readership of that blog? Will it hurt or help search engines or not matter at all? Will I lose or gain clients by offering more of myself, my life, my family on my “work” blog? I’m still undecided if this is the right move so I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts. I don’t have a HUGE readership here, but I know many of you read and don’t comment so now is your chance. What do you think? Keep it separate? Merge it together? I am thinking of doing a trial run and see how it goes. Decisions, decisions. I would love any feedback and opinions you may have. Thanks!

The Good Life
When the babies were little everyone would comment on at least they have each other to play with. Hahahah. What a crock of crap that was! When they were little they didn’t play together, more like beat each other over the head, bit each other, hit, push, shove, hurt, and any other painful thing you can think of. Then they got a little older and realized they had to share me so the fighting continued, this time while wrestling each other for a spot on my lap. And then they were 3. At first I didn’t see much difference, they still fought and didn’t play together all that much. Enter 3.3 and whooohooooo, let the play begin!!!

Last week I had a true wondrous, wonderful moment when we went to the park and had a picnic. Let me say, having twins is FINALLY starting to pay off. They played and ran and laughed and played and laughed some more.

What was I doing during all of this you ask? Sitting on the “grass” reading my book.

HOLY MOLY, I have been dreaming of this day for 3.3 years. Me, relaxing, while the twinzies play happily together. Now, don’t get me wrong, they still fight quite a bit, but they play together so much now that I’ll totally take the fighting along with the playing.

Having a “tea party”
It is so fun to see them truly enjoy one another and laugh, giggle, tickle, play games, and talk to each other. This is definitely the good life! I just know the older they get the better it is going to get and I am loving every NON fighting second!!

What We Do When it Rains All Week Edition:
We NEVER get rain in Las Vegas so when we do it is like the entire town goes into weather shock. We pretty much stayed home and played all week with the occasional bike ride when the rain stopped.

Shenzie’s new favorite thing is her “house”. She created a barrier of crap i.e. toys around her kitchen and plays house. She cooks, cleans, and pretend sleeps in her house. The pile of toys grew and grew and grew until pretty much every upstairs toy of hers was in it. I finally broke down and cleaned it much to her dismay.

Heaten pretty much play with his Choo Choo trains all day. He has his Geo Trax upstairs in the loft, his Billy and Thomas the Train in his room, another Thomas the Train and Percy downstairs along with his newest track - as you can see it is rather large, not to mention LOUD and ANNOYING).

Girly Girl
So I’m sure you’ve noticed that I have a real girly girl on my hands (which is quite funny).

Shenzie in full gear with her crown, pink hoodie, purple pj’s, and black and pink tutu.
A little side story….when I was a teenager I was a wanna be rebel. Part rebel, part tomboy, and not too girly girl. I vowed if I ever had a daughter she would NEVER wear pink. Hahahah, how my Mom laughs at me now.

I’m the weirdo on the right with my boys hanes v neck, black tights underneath cutoff shorts. Ahhh, the good old days. =)
I will say, when the babies were little there wasn’t much color choice for girls. Pink, white, and purple. White got dirty too fast, I HATE purple, so pink it was. I did manage to find them black after much searching, but pink was the name of the game.

So fast forward to 3.3 years and my oh so girly girl who refuses all things not pink. Ok, so that is not entirely true, she will wear purple (which I HATE), red (which I HATE), and on occasion brown (which I DON’T hate). Most days it is pink, and we even went thru a phase where I had to spray sparkles on her clothes to get her to wear them. Thank GOD that one is over!
So anyway…..when the twinzies were little they shared a room. Since we knew we were having a boy and a girl we did a neutral theme of green, yellow, cream and dragonflies. When they were 17 months they got their own rooms with Shenzie moving me out of my office and her moving in. The walls were white and dull, there were no decorations on the walls, basically it was just not cute.

Since I’m fairly certain we aren’t having more kids I really embraced my inner girly girl and gave Shenzie the room of her dreams! When Uncle Levi first painted the walls pink she was over the moon in hog heaven! Since then we added curtains, dots, her own toy chest, and today we finished it off with her name letters. Back when I was crafty I used to make these name letters for all of my nieces and nephews, and have had the letters sitting in the closet for like 2 years. I FINALLY got off my tush and completed them.

Needless to say Shenzie LOVES them, LOVES her cotton candy room, and LOVES that it is just hers and not “Heatnees”. I still have a few art projects and photos to hang, but I’m pretty much done and couldn’t be happier with her barfola pink room. =)

I also finished her bow holder (which btw sissies is not NEARLY as cute as your guys).

Now onto finishing up Heatens room in Choo Choo’s, trucks, and all things boy!

All About Me and Crafty14 Jan 2010 06:41 am
Once Upon a Time….
in a land far, far away I used to be crafty. I scrapbooked, made cards, created, crafted, and even quilled! Then I had kids and started my business and everything crafty got set aside. My HUGE stackable bin of scrapbook stuff is hiding in Heaten’s closet. My HUGE stackable of scrapbook paper and supplies is hiding in Shenzie’s closet, and everything else is just plain hiding.
This weekend I got off my butt and finally created something. Now, it’s not much, but hey, I have to start somewhere right? I got the idea from my sister Kristy who had something similar hanging in her house to hold photos. I mixed mine up a bit and made an art project holder for the many artsy fartsy things the twinzies create. Here is Shenzie’s:

I haven’t yet finished Heatens, just think blue, trains, no bows, and all boy. Eventually I plan to craft two yard sticks and hang them horizontal on the wall with dangling clips to hold art work. I will say I am much out of practice since I got a big ass blister on my finger from the hot glue gun. Apparently Mama needs to craft more!
My next project is to finally finish their letter names. When I get them done I will show them and finally show off Shenzie’s new pink, girly room!!
