When the babies were little everyone would comment on at least they have each other to play with. Hahahah. What a crock of crap that was! When they were little they didn’t play together, more like beat each other over the head, bit each other, hit, push, shove, hurt, and any other painful thing you can think of. Then they got a little older and realized they had to share me so the fighting continued, this time while wrestling each other for a spot on my lap. And then they were 3. At first I didn’t see much difference, they still fought and didn’t play together all that much. Enter 3.3 and whooohooooo, let the play begin!!!

Last week I had a true wondrous, wonderful moment when we went to the park and had a picnic. Let me say, having twins is FINALLY starting to pay off. They played and ran and laughed and played and laughed some more.

What was I doing during all of this you ask? Sitting on the “grass” reading my book.

HOLY MOLY, I have been dreaming of this day for 3.3 years. Me, relaxing, while the twinzies play happily together. Now, don’t get me wrong, they still fight quite a bit, but they play together so much now that I’ll totally take the fighting along with the playing.

Having a “tea party”
It is so fun to see them truly enjoy one another and laugh, giggle, tickle, play games, and talk to each other. This is definitely the good life! I just know the older they get the better it is going to get and I am loving every NON fighting second!!

It IS good, huh?
I read about 100 pgs of The Help yesterday while they played and Jon watched the football games. Sheer bliss.
Only downside is my boys have been playing a new game where they shove each other. THey find it hilarious but it often ends up in a huge crying fight.

Hi Lesley,
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now and just wanted to stop by to say hello. I am also a mommy of twins. My fraternal boys (Bryce & Drew) will be 4 in just a few months. Your little ones are absolutely darling! Isn’t it awesome when they hit the magic age of playing nicely together and entertaining one another…such a relief! Having twins is definitely a special, unique, awesome and challenging blessing!
Have a great week!

Totally here you on that! Sometimes my husband and I actually have a conversation
while the kids play with each other. Then we look at each other, amazed that
we’re not needed for 10 minutes. And I get to cook a lot more now, too.
