I was lucky enough to photograph Stacey and Jimmy’s engagement along with my other sister Kristy. We had a fabulous time and of course I love the photos! How could I not with such beautiful, sweet, loving, and fun people?!?!
I’ll throw in a little side story about the lone ranger balloon. We had the great idea to bring a bouquet of balloons to use in the session. We were snapping a few photos before introducing the balloons and POP! a few of them catch the wind and blow into the fence. No worries since we still have tons left, or so we thought. We move locations and at this time we should have just used the balloons, but nooooooooooooooo, I had other ideas, so I tied them to my trolly cart and away we go. Next thing you know the wind blows over my cart and all we hear is POP POP POP!!! POP!!POP! POP. I run over and grab the one remaining lone ranger balloon. Bummer about the balloons, but hey, at least we saved one right? =)
I won’t get all sappy (Kristy already covered that part), but I do want to say how happy I am you found someone so great and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!!!!
*And yes, I totally stole this post from my Photography Blog =)
.
Last weekend my good friend Janae’ invited us to her son’s bowling birthday party. We have never taken the twinzies bowling so I thought they would get a big kick out of it. It didn’t disappoint. They were SO excited to see Janae’, Gabrielle, and Ethan not to mention CAKE! PIZZA! and BOWLING! They were super hyped about it.
They did really good bowling and really seemed to like it. They also liked the pizza, lemonaid, cake, and arcade!
What a great day - thank you Janae’ for inviting us!!
*Just ignore the crappy flash photos - it was dark and I used the on camera flash which is, as you can see, not very happening!
I have been VERY lucky as far as Heaten is concerned. He is so sweet and loving and not your typical loud, obnoxious BOY. All that is changing and my oh my, it’s a doozie! Heaten has found his independence and Mama needs some time to adjust to this new back talking, spitting, growling, loud, obnoxious BOY!
Jeff reminds me that Shenzie went thru this about 4 months ago and I’m sure if I went back and read my archives I would find the same thing. HELP ME!!! Lets see, yesterday he peed on the floor because he was mad at me. Never, ever has Heaten ever climbed on anything other than the couch and our bed. Yesterday he tried climbing the [not bolted to the wall] wood shelves in my room. Then he threw an entire roll of toilet paper in the toilet. Then he smacked Shenzie REALLY hard for no reason. The he growled at me and refused to listen to anything I was saying. Ahhhhhh, the good life!!!
Along with the independence/testing me he has acquired a super funny sense of humor. It was always Shenzie who was the silly, jokester. Heaten has joined in the fun and he just thinks he is HILARIOUS, and I’ll admit, I do too!
I can only hope that this rebellious stage will end soon and life can continue on like normal.
I have been working a lot lately. Like, a LOT and haven’t had time for much except editing, editing, and more editing. With the twinzies dropping their nap (more on that later) and a side project I’m working on (more on that later) I am stretched as far as I can possibly be stretched. This week you get me cheating and using the same post I put up on my Photography Blog. I do love this photo even though I cut off Baby’s feet. =) Hopefully at some point I’ll be caught up and can post here about all of the crazy things the twinzies are into these days!!
I’ve written before about my friend Kristen’s new site called Reviewed By Mom. If you want the latest and honest scoop on all of the many things our kids need this is the place you’ll find it. I’m currently scrolling though to find the post she made about those shape up shoes since my butt hasn’t seen the gym in like 6 months, oops.
Three years and six months. Wow. Three.six is so much fun. So full of crazy. So full of energy. So loud. So whiny. So full of laughter. So full of screams. So full of life.
Shenzie at 3.6:
Loves attention. I often hear, “look at me Mama”
Loves to laugh
Loves to shake her booty
Loves to sing
Loves to be the center of attention
Loves food
LOVES candy and asks for it multiple times a day
Loves Daddy, Mommy, Heaten, and Julie
Sucks her thumb when falling asleep
Is VERY attached to Baby Bear
Likes Preschool
Loves pink and purple
Loves anything princess (Tinkerbell, Cinderella, Thumbalina, Sleeping Beauty)
Loves to dress up and often leaves the house in full gear: crown, wand, sparkly ballerina shoes, necklace, bracelet, ring, shirt, pants, and dress “orvvit” (over it)
Loves to wear dresses
Loves juice
Is very good with manners: please, thank you, you’re welcome
Can count to ten on her own and to twenty with help
Knows how to sing all of the ABC’s
Loves the “tickle mommer” (tickle monster)
Loves rituals - every night I have to stand by your bed and do “I love you, goodnight” and blow a kiss. Another ILUGN at the door with kiss followed by you asking me to check on you to which I reply “yes, I’ll check on you” followed by another ILUGN and kiss blowing followed by one more “check on you” to which I HAVE to reply “yes, ok”. Each and every nap and each and every night without fail. While this can get annoying now I know I will miss it when it’s gone.
Loves art projects and will sit coloring or painting for very long periods of time
Likes to dress herself and picks out her outfits daily
Does not like to nap
Does not love green foods (avocado, peas, green beans, asparagus)
Shenzie is still very feisty, stubborn, and a tiny little version of me. She loves to laugh, loves to make others laugh and loves to be silly.
Heaten at 3.6:
Loves Milk (we still drink Rice Milk) and he now asks for “rye milk, cow milk hurt heatnee belly”
LOVES trains (he has Geo Trax and Thomas the Train)
Watches his train movie every chance he gets
Loves his train book
Loves to cuddle
Loves the sand box
Loves trucks, tractors, and big cars
Likes Dinosaurs
Likes blue
Loves to imitate/copy Shenzie
Likes preschool
Loves Baby Doggy
Loves to watch TV
Loves to cuddle Daddy
Is really attached to Mama
Is turning out to be a hand talker. He walks around telling himself stories “and then, I….. and then, I……” all the while moving his hands around
Still refuses to poop on the potty
Loves to give me random kisses and I love you’s which of course I LOVE. Last night he pulled my head down with his hands and kissed my forehead and told me he loved me ::sigh:: so, so very sweet
Loves to throw things
Uses his manners most times, please, thank you, you’re welcome
Does not like most foods
Does not like Shenzie in his room
Heaten is still so very sweet natured and cuddly. His smile lights up his face (and mine).
*Disclaimers: Ignore the clutter of my house. Yes, that is Heaten in a dress. When Shenzie dresses up he feels left out and wants to dress up too (much to Daddy’s dismay).
Before I met you I never knew that someone could be so absolutely perfect for me. I am so, so very lucky to have married someone who gets me like nobody else does. So lucky to share my life, love, laughter, tears, happy and sad with my best friend. So lucky to have our family. So lucky to have you. So, so lucky. Thank you for making the past seven years so wonderful.
