Now with more kites!!!

The morning of Easter was w.w.w.windy! Las Vegas 2 weeks of spring are usually very wind filled. On the way to the park to kill some time before the Easter Party at Grandma’s we made a quick stop at the store for kites. The twinzies have never flown a kite before (come to think of it, I’ve not flown one for ohhhhhhhh, about 15 years) so we thought we’d give it a whirl. I didn’t have high hopes, but oh my, was I ever pleasantly surprised. Not only did they love it, they did awesome! You can bet we will be doing lots of kite flying on gross, windy days!

They flew them low.

They flew them high.

With Daddy’s help they were kite flying experts.

Until the kites flew away.

At which time we moved on to the bubbles!!!

And when those got boring we stole a quick kiss and headed to the party!!

I swear, I am on a child free high right now. A few months ago we put the twinzies in two half days at preschool. It has been great. I am able to get some work done without feeling guilty or trying to sneak emails in between the yelling, fighting, or “Mama look at me’s”. Recently my work load increased dramatically along with some other stuff I’m working on (more on that to come later), so much so that my head feels like it might explode from the stress. Jeff and I discussed increasing the twinzies preschool to two full days. They really seem to enjoy school and I really enjoy it too (well, minus the CONSTANT sickies). So I did it (not without a little guilt). Let me just say the amount of work I can get done in 3 hours is NOTHING compared to the amount of work I can get done in 6-7 hours. OMG I feel like I am floating on freedom crack right now (not that I know what crack floating feels like), but seriously….I am getting shit done! Not only am I getting shit done, I’m getting it done with no pressure of hurry, hurry, hurry.

On a side note I am a lover of music. Pre baby days I would spend countless hours surfing music sites, downloading music (back in the day when it was free), and finding great new bands. Sadly, these days I rarely listen to music. When we are in the car the only thing the twinzies want to listen to is Pink. While I do like Pink I am so Pinked out from the constant rotation of Pink CD’s. On the rare days I am home alone I just bask in the silence. Right now……ahhhhhhhh, right now I am blaring Eminem and loving every minute. I don’t have to worry about the cussing. I don’t have to worry about Shenzie crying she wants Pink. I don’t have to do anything but cuss along. I’m fairly certain music increased my productivity and definitely added a little pep to my day. So yay for full preschool days and for getting shit done while filling my soul with very loud music!!!

Friday when picking up the twinzies from Preschool I checked in with Miss A to see how they were doing. She told me that they were doing great, they fit right into the class, and got along well with others. She then told me how very sweet and happy Heaten is and how he’ll just run up to her and say “Miss A” and then give her a huge smile. She says he does this several times a day and couldn’t go on enough about how sweet and loving he is. He is so kind hearted and happy and will randomly throughout the day look over at me with a huge grin and say “I lub you Mom”. Or just “Hi Mom”. He is one amazing little dude.

She then went on about Shenzie and how independent she is and how if the other kids are doing something and she doesn’t want to do it she won’t, she’ll just go do her own thing. Yep, thats my girl, independent and already getting her own way. Remind you of anyone Mom? =) I will add that Shenzie is too very sweet and happy, just in a very different way. She is more in your face about it. Her favorite thing to do as Daddy or I leave is to run up, grab us as tight as she can around our leg and give it a huge smooch. She also loves BIG bear hugs with Daddy and Mommy. She will randomly throughout the day come running up to me and give me kisses on random places, my shoulder, arm, leg, but strangely enough, rarely my face. She is one amazing little girl.

You see how well he listens, but of course he was having too much fun to enforce the rule. =)
