Thanksgiving Edition:

I’ve spent every Thanksgiving with my family. When we moved I knew I was going to be bummed out at the holidays and miss my sissies like crazy, so imagine me jumping up and down like a maniac when my sister Stacey and niece Haylee bought their plane tickets to visit us in our new house for Thanksgiving. We are celebrating Thanksgiving a few days late as their flight didn’t get in until today, and I cannot wait!!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are sitting around with full left over Thanksgiving dinner bellies. =)

I have so, so many things to be thankful for. My amazing and awesome husband who I love more than anything. My kooky beautiful daughter and crazy handsome son who I also love more than anything. Our families, friends, health, and home. I love my life and am thankful for it every single day. I hope you all have a safe, warm, and wonderful Thanksgiving!

On a side note, I’m not quite sure how this cloud word works, but I’m fairly certain they are missing a huge factor….namely JEFF! I suppose I must write about him more often. =)

Cheese Edition:

Fake smile much?? So yeah, you know how I love the photo of Heaten I posed yesterday…..this is after Jeff told Heaten to smile for the camera. And now you see why I never ever tell a child to say cheese. I may play tickle monster, fake sneeze, tell fart jokes, bounce shoes on my head, but I never say cheese. And then Shenzie wanted in on the mix with her tongue cheesieness. =)

To see some pretty funny shots head over to my Photo Blog for Foto Friday Bloopers Edition. One of my favorites yet.

*Ignore the blur and grain….shots at ISO 2500 in a very dark room.

Yes, it is I, the bad, bad blogger. I suppose I should stop talking mad crap to my sister Stacey for never blogging when I’m right there with her. =) Oops.

So yeah, here I am!!!! Alive, well, happy, and pretty busy. There are so many awesome things happening around here, but for some reason I’m just not feeling this blog. I keep debating merging this with my photo blog and keep deciding no, but then this just sits empty and lonely.

I have been HORRIBLE with taking photos of my kids. Seriously horrible. This is one of the few photos I’ve taken in weeks. I snapped this photo one night when Heaten was “getting warm by the fire”. Some photos just grab me and this is one. I love his slept on crazy hair, his pj’s with undies sticking out, and most of all his expression. My little boy is little no longer. Oh my, how I love him so. And for you photo buffs out there, this was taken at ISO 2500. Yeah, the 5DII rocks my world!

So the kids are awesome. I am finally seeing the benefits of having twins. After many years of hard, hard, hard, they are getting so much easier. They play. Together. For like an hour at a time. For me, this is HUGE. After all of the fighting (which, don’t get me wrong, they still fight), but they also play a lot more now. Imaginations are hard at work making up all sorts of fun games. Train station, “mooky” ghosts, tag, and a bunch of other stuff I don’t quite get. They are both into scary stuff. They love Nightmare Before Christmas, “mooky” ghosts, bear chases, etc. Every night when I check on Shenzie I have to push her pile of crap out of the way before I can enter her room. She piles pillows, her bean bag, blankets, stuffed animals, and anything else that will fit in front of her door to keep the monsters out. I’m pretty sure some midnight nightmares are soon in the works.

We’ve now been in Bend for 6 months. After the initial move it we didn’t do to much, but after watching countless hours of HGTV I’m roaring and ready to do some house projects. I have a ZILLION projects I want to do (new kitchen, hardwood floors, update the bathrooms, etc), but for now it is working out just peachy. I decorated a bit of the living room and am happy with the turnout (photos coming soon).

Work is going really well. I’ve had some awesome sessions here, but I’m pretty bummed I won’t get much work when the snow hits (although I do have some fun snow sessions swirling around in my head).

I’ve made some awesome friends here (as have Shenzie and Heaten) and we are enjoying many playdates. After playing at a friends house this week and driving their car Shenzie and Heaten (mainly Heaten) are dying to get one. If only.

Stacey and Haylee (my sister and niece) are coming for Thanksgiving and I’m super excited!!!! Its supposed to snow this weekend, I hope some sticks so we can all go sledding.

And…..ummmmmm….that is all for now. Hopefully I’ll get my blog groove back soon!!

Snow! And Tarp Rides! In Video! Edition:

I am sure these tarp rides will soon turn into sled pulling rides. Poor Mule….er, I mean Daddy, having to pull two wriggly bundles of laughter. But oh, how they love it so!

I’m horrible! I haven’t blogged here in a week, and I haven’t taken any real photos of my kids since Halloween. Soon things will settle down and [hopefully] I’ll be around more!

BFF’s Edition:

I am so lucky to have made so many awesome friends in Bend. Within a week of moving here I joined the local Moms Meetup (MMOCO), and let me just say, it was the best thing I could have done after moving to a new city where I didn’t know anybody. The women are amazing, awesome, kind, helpful, supportive, and did I say awesome!!!

This is Linnaea, Shenzie AND Heaten’s best friend. They love love love Nea and her little sister Bella. They talk about Nea every day. Last night (another late night for Shenzie) when I was going to bed I peeked in Shenzie’s room to watch her play house with imaginary Nea. It was adorable.

Well, technically it was our second snow, but we missed the first one and it didn’t stick so in my mind it doesn’t count. So, that means, this is our first official play in the snow!!!

I have mixed feelings about our first winter in Bend. On one hand I am loving seasons, weather, and all things Bend. On the other {cold} hand, I am scared of winter driving, being stuck indoors, and the constant cold I am sure to feel. I am a desert rat, I have desert blood. Anything below 70 degrees and I’m cold {ok, not that bad, but pretty close}. =)

The Twinzies {so far} are LOVING it!! First thing in the morning we bundled up and went outside to play in the snow. Heaten had a blast and Shenzie loved eating it. Of course I told her the golden rule of snow….never eat the yellow stuff. =)

Mt. Bachelor got dumped on and I was all crazy excited thinking about all of the awesome snowboarding I’d be doing there. That is, until I saw their season passes were $999. Ummmm, smoke more crack! I’ll be headed to Hoodoo where the prices are a little more reasonable.

So yeah, snow, in October. Insane crazy and hopefully more fun than I imagine it to be.

We bought a year pass to the High Desert Museum, and while I don’t love it nearly as much as the Lied Children’s Science Museum in Vegas, it does offer some really awesome things. I was super excited to see the announcement for the Butterfly Exhibit. I love me some butterflies, and moths are pretty cool as well.

These moths were HUGE….I wish the photo showed just how big it was.

I used my Canon 100mm Macro for these. And HOLY CRAP it is November!!!
