Our weather is still so cold, snowy, rainy, and nasty I didn’t get out to run even once this week. =( On the positive side, I absolutely love Power Yoga and am going as much as possible. I was introduced to it by a friend and have since shared the love with a few other friends, so we have quite a group of yoga goers to make it even more fun. I have high anxiety, low patience, and at times I can be a [bit] crazy. I really feel yoga is helping my brain from running wild with worry, stress, and anxiety. I practice my breathing and meditation at night to calm my racing mind. When I find myself getting anxious or stressed throughout the day I remind myself to take a moment to breath and focus in the moment which is really helping. I feel I am a more patient mother, wife, and friend. I notice a definite improvement in my upper body strength and overall body strength, awareness, and energy.
Namaspa offers a few child yoga classes as well that I’ve taken Heaten and Shenzie to. They LOVE it. After their first class Shenzie was SO excited to show me her “dead bug”. At home when we practice yoga her favorite is happy baby and downward facing dog which is just too darn cute! I’ll get photos next time we do our yoga video. Heaten’s favorite is the tree pose. He can’t quite keep his balance which makes it even cuter. =)
So yes, I am so so glad to have found something I love that is not only helping my body stay healthy, but my mind as well.

I am also going to commit to doing more strength training and cardio at home since right now it is just too icky outside to do it. I cannot wait for summer!!!
*As I type this the weather went from nice and sunny to a freezing hail storm within 15 minutes. Lame.
